The city has received a new application to develop a townhouse complex in the middle of a single-family neighbourhood where higher density housing hasn’t been envisioned by Delta.
The proposal by Westcorp Developments 92 Avenue Ltd. would see a 32-unit residential development, which includes three houses and 29 townhouses, in the 11000-block of 92nd Avenue in North Delta, behind Delview Secondary and Gibson Elementary.
Currently zoned for single-family, the large single lot just off 116th Street ,currently has a house and a large stand of trees.
A report by the planning department notes it would be possible to develop 10, single-detached homes or six duplex houses at the site under its current designation, subject to meeting regulations under the zoning bylaw including setbacks, landscaping, site coverage and parking requirements.
