Bengals’ Carlos Dunlap offers house for sale after loss

Carlos Dunlap appears to be done with the Cincinnati Bengals.

The two-time Pro Bowl defensive end has spent his entire 11-season career with the Bengals, but seemed to reach his breaking point with the franchise on Sunday.

The Bengals lost a tight game to the rival Cleveland Browns as quarterback Baker Mayfield threw for five touchdowns against the Cincinnati defense.

As time wound down, cameras caught Dunlap in a sideline argument with the coaching staff.

Dunlap: ‘I don’t got time for this’

Dunlap lost his starting job earlier this season and wrote on Instagram Saturday “I don’t got time for this” alongside a whiteboard image of the Bengals depth chart.

The 31-year-old failed to record a tackle in Sunday’s loss. Immediately after the game, he announced on Twitter that his house is for sale. “Serious inquiries only.”

Arbor Hill, the sweeping Fort Washington estate owned by the former chief executive of the now-bankrupt Advanta banking company, was put up for private auction Tuesday after an eight-year attempt to sell the property.

Unlike 2012, when Arbor Hill’s owner, Dennis Alter, posted the almost 70-acre property for sale for $30 million, on Tuesday he auctioned a fraction of his home — 50 acres — for $12 million. It had been on the market for more than two and a half years.

The estate is listed on Concierge Auctions, a high-end real estate bidding platform that has counted Cher and Michael Jordan as its clients, and also been accused of using fake bidders to drive up prices. Concierge has denied the accusations.

“We’ve tried to sell the entire estate, but that’s not what we’re selling today at auction,” said Janet Rubino, the Long & Foster real estate agent

Boston condo market offers ‘unimaginable’ deals amid pandemic

Boston-area home prices were up an astounding 14.3 percent year-over-year in September, according to the national brokerage Redfin — roughly in line with a nationwide real estate boom being driven by record-low mortgage rates and a shortage of homes for sale. But the downtown condo market has been marching — or stumbling — to the beat of a different drummer.

“The Boston condo market is a great example of what’s happening nationally,” said Kiernan Middleman, an agent with Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Warren Residential in Boston, which just published its third-quarter report on the city’s condo market. “Buyers are simply leaving the city and heading to the suburbs.”

That shift away from the urban core is evident even within the city limits as condo prices plunged downtown but held their ground in some of Boston’s outlying neighborhoods, according to the report.

Unsolicited Offers For Commercial Real Estate

Even in today’s uncertain commercial real estate market, long-term family owners of commercial real estate often get phone calls or emails out of the blue from someone offering to buy their property. Often those communications include a very impressive number that the caller says it would probably be willing to pay. The caller typically wants to make a quick off-market deal by getting the owner’s attention quickly with a big number.

It’s not always clear whether the caller is a principal or a broker. Even if the caller sounds like a principal, if you ask some questions it becomes clear they’re just trying to put together a deal. If they succeed, they will go out and find someone to take over the deal. But their number is still pretty impressive so maybe it’s worth a conversation.
