A man entered a guilty plea in connection with a real estate scam which used a false lawsuit to reclaim a property and attempt to sell it, the Ventura County District Attorney’s Office said Friday.

Theodore Childers, 82, of Los Angeles County, pled guilty to one count of recording a false document, a felony. Childers is the fourth person connected to the scheme to plead guilty.

The scheme involved a Los Angeles property which was the subject of a false lawsuit claiming the owner went back on an agreement to sell the property. The lawsuit was filed in Ventura County Superior Court and Childers provided false documents saying the property owner was notified of the lawsuit.
