$39.15 million — Beverly Hills

Near the Beverly Hills Flats, one of the largest estates ever offered in the community fetched one of the biggest prices: $39.15 million.

The home was owned by Joshua Greer, founder of RealD Inc., which is known for RealD 3D, a system used in movie theaters. He sold it to a trust tied to an East Coast investor, records show.

Colorado wildfires rage as blaze incinerates dozens of mountain homes, ranks among state’s costliest fires

Firefighters in Colorado were able to gain ground Monday against the state’s largest wildfire on record, as the damage from another blaze has totaled among the most costly in state history. 

The largest blaze currently burning in Colorado, the Cameron Peak Fire, is now 205,004 acres and 51% contained as of Tuesday morning. 

“We were finally able to go on offense,” incident commander Dan Dallas said.


Officials said firefighting efforts were “very successful” throughout the day, despite near-critical fire weather conditions.

The Journal of Real Estate Literature ranked the university’s College of Business first for real estate research, according to an FIU press release. It is the first time the university ranks at the top in the study. FIU tied with the National University of Singapore.

The American Real Estate Society runs the Journal of Real Estate Literature. The three-member editorial team includes Eli Beracha, director of the Hollo School of Real Estate. The 24-member editorial board includes FIU Hollo School of Real Estate Prof. Julia Freybote, Fannie Mae Director of Economics Michael LaCour-Little, and National University of Singapore Real Estate Prof. Joseph Ooi.

D-FW ranks as one of the top U.S. property markets for 2021

For the second year in a row, Austin out shines Dallas-Fort Worth in a long-running real estate beauty contest.

But the real star of the annual Emerging Trends in Real Estate report is Raleigh-Durham, N.C., which was voted the top metro market to watch in the year ahead.

The widely anticipated report – in its 42nd year – quizzes hundreds of real estate pros from across the country to rate the best property markets for the year ahead. The study is done by the Urban Land Institute and PriceWaterhouse Coopers.

D-FW was ranked first two years ago in the poll. And last year Austin took the lead.
