After Vancouver and West Vancouver, North Vancouver boasts the most expensive real estate in Greater Vancouver. According to a Century 21 report earlier this year, the value of the average detached house rose to $690 per square foot (in contrast, downtown is nearly twice as expensive at $1,192 per square foot).
At these prices, North Van remains beyond the budget of many first-time homebuyers. That is, unless they’re looking for a one-bedroom condo — according to REW.ca , $400,000 can still buy you a place in the city.
