The concept for the Cabana Resort project on Bonita Beach Road’s path to the Gulf beaches might have been Bonita Springs’ best kept secret, but that is no longer the case. “As sales materials are released, Realtors and their clients begin to engage. And when they see the plans, the scale of it, it seemed to take off from there.” Cheryl Deering, VP and Director Of Sales for Developer Resources, the new construction division of John R. Wood Properties, commenting on Cabana’s notable sales performance after its initial preview to local Realtors. Cabana is designed to become Southwest Florida’s most innovative resort and entertainment mega-development. It is amenity rich and meticulously engineered at every point to deliver luxurious condominium living and exclusive resort conveniences to its owners, as well as inspired recreational, shopping, dining and socializing options designed to involve and attract the community at large – all year round, morning through night. Multiple resort pools and a huge waterpark, plus an expansive Grand Food Hall are a few highlights of the Cabana Resort experience. Earlier this year, Cabana acquired a nearby Gulf of Mexico island to give its owners exclusive beachfront access.
Two and three bedroom residences are available, each with its own separate lock-out suite. Platinum Circle buyers will receive favorable Early Commitment pricing and amenity considerations. To date, 26 of the 110 units are under contract. Pre construction pricing is available for a few early owners.
Led by Omer Dror, Bonita Development LLC has acquired several contiguous parcels since 2012 which comprise the 25 acre site for Cabana Resort, including Bonita Village and the former Rode’s Restaurant and Fish Market. The latter is scheduled for demolition later this year. In 2013, Sun Village Vacations was engaged to manage Bonita Village’s rental program and its existing Beach Shuttle services were expanded at that time for the convenience of the existing owners. Mr. Dror, a Yale MBA and MIT real estate development master student, brings his education, experience and love of Bonita Springs to bear on the development of Cabana Resort as a luxury resort oasis of exciting, inspired and occasionally artful amenities.
Cabana uses its entire 7-story building elevation to introduce the fresh face of energized contemporary architecture to Gulf-view condominium living, and bookends it with massive ground to rooftop art installations. In addition to spacious floorplans with wide walkways throughout, extra-deep outdoor living spaces distinguish every Cabana residence. The rooftop garden and its sun and shade gathering areas feature comfortable seating and a separate pavilion for private events. The uninterrupted views of the Gulf of Mexico to the west are expansive.
Cabana’s luxury appointments and building standards include higher ceilings, eight-foot tall, solid core interior doors with wide casings and six-inch baseboards. Premium flooring is installed in all the rooms, highlighted by intricate mosaic tile motifs for a dramatic effect. Quartz countertops, solid wood cabinetry with 42-inch high upper cabinets, Kohler fixtures and GE Profile stainless steel appliances are standard Kitchen appointments. The Baths have separate commode rooms and full-height frameless shower enclosures that are tiled floor-to-ceiling and feature oversized, rainforest-style shower heads. Bath vanity mirrors are LED-backlit throughout and all residences have Powder Rooms.
The entertainment and attractions will be what set Cabana apart from other developments and make it a year round destination. It offers a combined seven-acres of resort pools including a huge and meandering Lazy River water feature designed to delight and engage at every turn. It offers sun and shade decks, a ‘surfable’ triple Flow Rider, a stunning waterfall pool adjacent to Cabana’s Tiki Hut and a quiet pool for peaceful reflection and meditation. A separate children’s play area with shaded section and splash pad is featured as well as a rock climbing wall and interactive video game space. Private and open-to-the-public affairs, pop-up events and celebrations will be featured all year long.
In addition, Cabana’s Grand Food Hall will extend along its wide Bonita Beach Road frontage from Luke Street to Meadow Lark Lane. The open and airy expanse will be sheathed in glass for almost endless 360 degree views. Anchored by inviting parks at each end, the Hall is designed for boardwalk strolling, casual to fine dining, shopping, sampling and socializing over brews, art installations, entertainment and Bonita-centric sights in an all-seasons comfortable setting. The Grand Food Hall will be heat and humidity controlled to invite year-round usage, and along with its parks will be open to the public, showcasing select micro-brewers, live music, exotic and exceptional foods and occasional artful sundries – always with a Cabana commitment to quality and originality. The space and its scheduling will be kept flexible to respond to seasonal usage and popularity.
The redesign and renovation of Bonita Village’s existing resort pools and Tiki Hut will begin this year, integrating them into Cabana’s contemporized architectural style. Foundation work for the 110 residence building is scheduled to start this year with a first-quarter, 2022 completion date.
Cabana’s singular location along Bonita Beach Road makes it the only gateway access to the Gulf of Mexico between north Naples and South Ft. Myers. If you want to go to the beach in Bonita, you have to pass Cabana to get there. That visibility and ease of access will introduce an ever changing audience to the family fun and year round luxurious lifestyle that Cabana Resort brings to Bonita Springs.
