The burger flipping robot is designed to reduce human contact with food during the cooking process and comes after many restaurants were crippled due to the pandemic.
A “For Sale” sign now hangs from one of Chenango County’s most popular restaurants.
The Silo Restaurant & Carriage House is on the market. Asking price: $965,000.
A popular spot for holiday buffets, Sunday brunches, pre-prom dinners and other celebrations for generations of Broome Chenango and Otsego County residents, The Silo, off Route 41, six miles west of Greene, had a two-tiered dining area and a large open area often employed for seating on busy days.
Located on a128-acre parcel located on a hilltop with sweeping views of the surrounding rural fields and forest, a garden located just steps the dining area was also a popular spot for photos for families celebrating special occasions with a meal at the restaurant.
“Like any other restaurant, they were affected by Covid, but they are not closing because of Covid,” said Rula Abudalo-Hull, a real estate agent for Exit Realty, which is handling the sale.

Rather, Hull said, the restaurant has multiple owners, but the majority owner is ready to retire and neither his children nor other owners wanted to continue the business.
A telephone message left at the restaurant Monday morning was not returned.
The business remains open, and it will continue to operate through the sale, Hull said.
“Our children treated me to Sunday brunch for my 70th birthday. There was 20 of us. The food was scrumptious and the service was excellent,” wrote Susan Dunham in a recent Google review. “For an unplanned treat we got to watch some bald eagles fly overhead. The windows are big so you can see the whole valley around. “
In addition to the restaurant and carriage house, built in 1975, the parcel also includes a four-bedroom private colonial home with three-car garage, an inground pool and a pond, according to the property’s description.
