The VFW building in Appleton has been sold, but its ultimate use may not be known for a while.

The investment group that purchased it this past week isn’t in a hurry. 

“We can be patient. We have the ability to wait for a long time to have the best options come to the forefront,” said Dave Allen, a member of Core LLC, the local group that purchased it. It is not affiliated with The Core, a nearby church. 

Core paid $400,000 for the VFW building at 501 N. Richmond St., its parking lot across Packard Street and an unoccupied duplex next to the parking lot. 

In the short term, they’re leasing
