NORTH TRURO — A single condominium unit on Shore Road caught fire Thursday evening in North Truro but despite high winds the fire department was able to douse the flames and limit the damage to single living space, according to Fire Chief Tim Collins.
A two-person fire crew that arrived first acted quickly, and was able to save what could have been a much larger fire, affecting properties on either side, given the winds, Collins said at the condo complex Friday morning. The intensity of the fire is reflected in the fact that the fire melted the light fixtures, he said. The crew connected to a fire hydrant across the street, but did not have to use a lot of water to get the flames under control, he said.
No one was injured, Collins said. The renter of the two-story unit at 544
