Duxbury approves “friendly” taking of Temple Street property

The $2.2 million purchase was approved at town meeting in August

DUXBURY — After Duxbury residents approved the purchase of 17 acres of land on Temple Street during an August special town meeting, the select board has approved an order of taking for the property.

Duxbury Town Administrator Rene Read said the board of selectmen signed an order of taking during a recent meeting, one of the first steps in the eminent domain process.
