Two lavish homes, believed to be the largest new build in Wellington in more than a decade, are beginning to take shape above Evans Bay.

The houses in Overtoun Tce in Hataitai are being constructed on two sections of land, bought for $5.8m in 2016 by Wellington-based siblings Nigel and Susan Stanford, according to property records. Early plans estimated the cost of the build to be $7.5m. That would put the combined cost of the land and the house at $13.3m.
