The couple paid $3.35 million for the half-floor unit in December 2018, according to the Cook County recorder of deeds. They then spent “over $250,000” on upgrades, according to their listing agent, Louisa Azizi of Weichert Realtors First Chicago. The upgrades included all new wide-plank hardwood floors and custom lighting and shelving, Azizi said.
Aaron Sanandres did not immediately respond to a request for comment Crain’s sent through New York-based Untuckit’s public relations office. Azizi declined to discuss the sellers.
In 2010, Chris Riccobono designed a men’s dress shirt that would be cut short so it wouldn’t rumple or look sloppy when worn untucked. The next year, Sanandres joined him in launching Untuckit, which by 2019 was a $200 million brand with 86 stores and 500 apparel products for men, women and children. The firm has two stores on Michigan Avenue and one in the Oakbrook Center shopping mall.
